Eligible voters can also register to vote in person by going to:

  • PennDOT. You can register to vote when you obtain or renew your drivers license or state identification card at any of the license facilities.
  • Northampton County Election Office.
  • Registration is also available at other state government offices, including public assistance offices, and military recruitment offices.

Are you eligible to vote?

To register to vote in Pennsylvania, you must:

Register at least 15 days before the next election.

Be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the next election.

Be a resident of Pennsylvania and the election district  for at least 30 days before the next election.

Be at least 18 years old on or before the day of the next election.

You must register to vote at the address where you actually live—your residential address. Owning property or a business in a county does not necessarily make you a resident of that county.

When to re-register

Your registration is permanent unless you move or change your name.

Address changes

If you have moved within the County, you must transfer your registration by re-registering.

You must re-register with the local election authority or county clerk if you move to an address outside of the County.

Name changes

Voters who legally change their name, but not their address, do not have to re-register. If you have changed your name, you can vote after updating your information at the polls.
